Volleyball Rotation. Serving Order.

Though very simple, the volleyball rotation frequently gets "lost in the shuffle." The start and stop of play along with the scrambling of the girls around the court during play causes players to frequently lose track of who was serving, who is supposed to serve, and whether or not the team is supposed to rotate.

45. T F The serve is always struck by the player in the RB position.

46. T F The "on deck" server is in the CB position.

47. T F A team rotates after it serves and loses a point.

48. T F The receiving team at the beginning of the game does not rotate when it first becomes the serving team.

It is very frustrating to a coach (believe me, I know) when players mess up the rotation and serve out of order. And there's no practice equipment designed to solve it. Just keep checking and checking. Speaking of checking, let's check your answers below.

Answers:

45. T

46. F - The "on deck" server is always in the RF position.

47. F - Teams rotate after they win the right to serve not after they lose the rally while serving.

48. F - The receiving team always rotates upon receiving the serve even on the team's very first serve of the game.

The teams move their positions (players) clockwise to determine the front/back row players and the server. Let's see questions 49-52 by clicking onvolleyball rotation.
