Volleyball Scorer. 3rd and 4th of 7 officials.

The volleyball scorer keeps the game score, keeps track of substitutions, time outs, and a number of other duties. The assistant scorer (4th official) keeps track of the libero, a position discussed in questions 89-100.

29. T F The scorer reports to the referee at least 20 minutes before the match begins.

30. T F The scorer must receive the team rosters at least 10 minutes before the first game begins.

31. T F The scorer must receive the team lineups at least 5 minutes before the first game begins.

32. T F The scorer must notify the umpire when a substitution is the team's 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, and 18th.

While it takes a special person to volunteer to be the scorer, the hardest task for the scorer is usually fighting the temptation to cheer for the players instead of recording the score, etc. Let's check your answers below.
