The volleyball timer has fewer responsibilities than the scorer, and he may have an assistant timer (6th official) to help time the time outs and the 3 minute interval between games. 33. T F The timer reports to the umpire at least 20 minutes prior to the start of the match. 34. T F The timer times the pre-game team warm-ups. 35. T F The timer sits between the scorer and the assistant scorer. 36. T F The timer sounds a signal at the 45 second and 60 second mark of the time out unless both teams are back earlier.
